I’m a film fanatic and food enthusiast. I’ve lived in three countries, and visited seven other. I’ve found that there is nothing people have more in common than enjoying a good meal, and sharing it with others.
I’ve collected a good number of recipes from family, friends, cookbooks, TV shows, and the Internet. This is my attempt to make these delicacies, with my own twist, in my tiny apartment kitchen. I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian and my partner isn’t, so there should be a good variety dishes that make their way here. I’ll include a recipe with a post, when I am able to, and I hope that other people will be willing to give them a try.

My kitchen, on the average night

My numberless oven dial – lets play guess the temperature!
The title for this blog is a play on The Madwoman of Chaillot starring my favourite actress, Katharine Hepburn. The header artwork is “The Lady of Shallot Looking at Lancelot” by Waterhouse.

that’s funny! It drives me absolutely crazy, honestly. I bought a thermometer to keep in the oven, but that does little to help. Its just always trial and error. I figure half way is about 350F and guestimate from there. How do you manage it?
